Q. Why take an online course?
A. An online course offers students who may have too busy a schedule to complete a driver’s education course within the time frames offered by a local classroom. It is also a great option for students who are home-schooled or live in remote areas where a classroom location is an inconvenience to attend.
Q. Is this online course approved by the State of California?
A. Yes, we are approved by the state of California. You will receive state issued certificates which are individually numbered by the DMV.
Q. How long does it take to receive my driver’s education completion certificate?
A. We will mail your official completion certificate within two business days of successful completion of the course. (You must allow for postal delays when there are legal holidays and Sundays.)
Q. What do I need to take my permit test?
A. You will need the Certificate of Completion of Driver's education; a valid birth certificate/passport, $35.00 in order to take the test. You will also need to have the DMV application signed by both parents.
Q. When is my permit valid?
A. Your permit must be validated (signed) by a licensed driving instructor BEFORE you can legally drive with your parents! :)
Q. How long will the driver's training course take to complete?
A. According to the DMV, a driving school will usually take the full six months to complete the 6 hours of driver's training. We do take the full six month time period to complete the three, two hour, lessons...providing the student schedules their appointments in a timely manner. Minors are required to obtain their permit for six months and one day. Please reference our "Welcome Letter" that we issue at the time of registration for all the details.
Q. Do I still need to take driver’s training?
A. Yes. If you are under 17 ½ you will need to complete a six hour course in driver’s training from a licensed driving school in order to take your driver’s license test. You will receive a Certificate of Completion of Driver's Training from them.
Q. Who can take this course?
A. This course is approved for any high school student in the state of California . It is also available to any person wanting to improve their driving skills or prepare for their permit test.
Q. What happens if I lose my certificate?
A. If you lose the certificate that we have issued to you, we will mail you a duplicate certificate upon request and the processing fee will be $10.00. These certificates are numbered and are strictly controlled by the DMV.
Q. Are there any refunds?
A. Refunds are not given to any one who has already received their certificate. Refunds are not usually given on any of our services; however, they will also be based on an individual basis and may be refused by the owners. If a refund is given, a $25 fee will be charged to offset our processing fees.
Q. How long do I have to complete this course?
A. You have ONLY ONE YEAR to complete the entire course (including the driver's training, if you paid for that at the time of registration.) It is VERY important to take note of this! If you go over the one year time limit you will be charged a minimum $50 late fee to complete your driver's training course. Any person taking longer than 18 months will be recharged the current rate for driver's training (6 hours) in full.
